![]() The quartz-wm window manager included with the XQuartz distribution uses the Apple Public Source License Version 2. The X.Org software components’ licenses are discussed on the Please re-install the latest XQuartz X11 release for Leopard after installing a system software update to OS X 10.5.x Leopard.Īn XQuartz installation consists of many individual pieces of software which have various licenses. Because of this, you may experience conflicts after doing a Software Update from Apple. Since the XQuartz X11 package clobbers Apple's X11.app, their software update will clobber the XQuartz X11 package. ![]() OS X Software Updates have included some of the work done by the XQuartz project, but for various reasons, Apple cannot ship the latest and greatest version offered by the XQuartz site. The XQuartz project is an open-source effort to develop a version of the X.Org X Window System that runs on macOS. Together with supporting libraries and applications, it forms the X11.app that Apple shipped with OS X versions 10.5 through 10.7. ![]() ![]() In-general only when using XQuartz is ML unstable, so stability in native Quartz HD mode. The XQuartz project is an open-source effort to develop a version of the X.Org X Window System that runs on macOS. What is supposed to happen?, Where did you find and/or notice this bug? The XQuartz project is an open-source effort to develop a version of the X.Org X Window System that runs on OS X. I suggest this be looked into for future stability of the client, as sooner or later there will be an OS update or breaking change that will render XQuartz even less viable than it is now and if MapleLegends isn't using the native driver by that day then it will be impossible to play it on macOS. It is possible to increase the resolution and use the native macOS driver as I have used a client that had achieved this before – I am not privy to the internal workings of the binaries though so I do not know what is required and the relevant context for MapleLegends nor am I asking. Being that macOS users can run the game fine on 800圆00 using the native driver this means they cannot experience a stable HD experience without instability. There is a lot more but in general the only time there is a problem with MapleLegends is when it's running under XQuartz. Character select bug only occurs with XQuartz (tentative). Cash shop bug only occurs with XQuartz (tentative). Wineskin instances don't appear to be scoped well as running dual clients and closing one closes the other also. Wine spawns far too many processes and processes hang around after closing requiring manual killing. Accidental changing from Windowed to Fullscreen via alt-enter renders window unmovable and stuck on the top left requiring a restart of the winewrapper. Particularly when CCing or moving between maps faster than once a minute meaning LMPQ is impossible, browsing FM is impossible, etc. Sometimes the game on XQuartz just straight up crashes. Periodic de-focus of window (window loses focus meaning you have to click it or command tab back in, annoying if you're in a boss fight since you suddenly cannot pot or attack and you might die). Huge CPU consumption, nearing 80% vs 20% with native driver. The XQuartzproject was founded on the X11 version that came with Mac OS X v10.5. The XQuartz project was created by Apple as a community effort to further develop and support X11 on Macs. XQuartz is only required for the HD version, but this comes with a few problems (both in HD and if using XQuartz on 800圆00): About X11 for Mac: X11 is no longer included with Mac, but the XQuartz project provides X11 server and clientlibraries. It works perfectly fine in 800圆00 mode – XQuartz 2.7.9 is not needed at all then. I think a stride should be made to get MapleLegends working with the native macOS Quartz driver. So, dependencies and configurations for MapleLegends rely on software and configuration that is at least 4 years old and largely deprecated. Wine 1.5.28 was released on, almost 7 years ago.
